2025 LMU Homecoming CME: Hot Topics in Primary Care
This 4-hour CME course is being held in conjunction with LMU's annual Homecoming celebration. The course will take place Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 8 a.m. - noon eastern time via Zoom. All presentations will be recorded and available to view on-demand online for one month following the live program.

8 a.m. - 9 a.m. – Headache Differential for the Primary Care Provider | Megan Bill, DO’16
Dr. Megan Bill has been practicing both inpatient and outpatient neurology at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville since 2020. She has served as the associate medical director of the University Neurology Clinic since 2024. Dr. Bill obtained her doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from LMU-DCOM in 2016 and completed neurology residency at Indiana University in 2020. She is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology.

9 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. – COPD Management Updates | Anthony Mattox, DO'14
Dr. Anthony Mattox practices at Mid-South Pulmonary and Sleep Specialists, a large private practice in Memphis, Tennessee, which he joined in 2020. He received his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from LMU-DCOM in 2014. He completed his residency and fellowship training at UTHSC in Memphis. Dr. Mattox has specific expertise in pulmonary nodule management, advanced bronchoscopy, asthma and COPD management. He practices critical care medicine at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. - A Cardiovascular Fixer Upper: Foundation, Plumbing, and an Electrical Tune Up! | Dena Krishan, DO’11, MS
Dr. Dena Krishnan completed her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Genesys Regional Medical Center-Health Park in Grand Blanc, Michigan. She is board certified in cardiology and internal medicine. She is currently a cardiologist with Bon Secours in Hampton Roads, Virginia, and serves as the medical director of the Maryview Medical Center Cardiac Rehab. She also works with the Women’s Heart Clinic & Prevention Cardio Oncology Program. She is the current executive board president of the American Heart Association Hampton Roads and is a medical contributor to local news media. Dr. Krishan received her doctor of osteopathic medical degree from LMU-DCOM in 2011 as a member of the inaugural class.

10:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. – Diabetes Management | Jessie Lawrence, DO’15
Dr. Jessie Lawrence is a 2015 graduate of LMU-DCOM. She trained in family medicine in Augusta, Georgia. She worked in an outpatient hospital-based practice in Fayetteville, North Carolina, for four years before moving back home to Tennessee to work at Vanderbilt University. She currently is an assistant professor for the department of medicine at Vanderbilt and hosts medical students regularly in her regional clinic in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Her husband, also a 2015 LMU-DCOM graduate, is an OB/GYN with the Army, and they have two children.

11 a.m. - Noon – End of Life Care | Tyler McCurry, DO’13
Dr. Tyler McCurry earned his undergraduate degree from UT Knoxville, where he played football as a walk-on defensive tackle under Coach Phillip Fulmer. After multiple injuries ended his football career, he pursued medicine and developed a strong interest in osteopathic manipulation. He graduated from LMU-DCOM where he completed a pre-doctoral fellowship in medical gross anatomy and osteopathic principles and practices. Dr. McCurry then trained in family medicine at East Tennessee State University and is board certified in both osteopathic family medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine. His clinical experience includes primary care, integrative medicine, osteopathic manipulation, acupuncture, wound care and hospice. He now serves as a full-time assistant professor of OMM at LMU-DCOM in Knoxville, while continuing to work in hospice and as the medical examiner for Bradley County. Dr. McCurry and his wife, Lillian, have one son, Liam. As a family, they enjoy reading, cheering for Tennessee Vols football, and all things Star Wars.
